Tokyo Ghoul

9/10
Getting into the good animes today with Tokyo Ghoul! This anime follows Kaneki a young man who ends up encountering a very powerful 'Ghoul' called Rize; this meeting would spark the beginnings of a legend among the Ghouls!

Tokyo Ghoul is very highly rated for a reason and that is because its' story is so good. It is portrayed well and has great suspense for both readers and viewers! To start things off Kaneki is a pretty normal guy with little to be proud of as he is not particularly special in anyway though, this changes when he catches the attention of a female ghoul named Rize. It would be a fate that he could never have wanted or dreamed of considering how ghouls are viewed across the world in Tokyo Ghoul. Ghouls in this show are people that eat human flesh and have powers to go along with it to do so. Effectively they come across like vampires but, there are many differences between the two and considering what they normally eat it is not hard to see why one would not want to become one.

Tokyo Ghoul's main strength is its' story-telling by far. Yes there are blips of comedy, romance, action, and plenty of content but, the general way the anime is shown to you is the strength of this show. Though, Kaneki is slow to get a start on kicking ass when he does get to that point it's fucking awesome to see just how much the character ends up changing. This is a whole different take on character growth in a way it is character regression since it was tremendous stress that would turn him into the monster that he would later become. Season two is where all that fun begins but, you won't understand what is happening if you do not watch season one. This show is one of those animes that everyone seems to know about but somehow isn't at the top of the list which is pretty easy to understand considering the amount of time that everyone has waited for season three to come out though, with the recent rumblings we could see it as early as the end of this year.

With everything that this show has there are some lackings that I will point out such as the story pacing. Every great story has to be told in a way that will make it great though, I will admit that Tokyo Ghoul has done this for my taste it is pretty slow for most people to stick to. People who don't like drawn out stories should probably not get into this one because, the real fun doesn't really start till season two. However, the slower story telling does give you more depth to each character and really puts on display what changes from one season to the next. You feel like you know the characters much better so when drastic change happens there is much more punch to it that if you just see some random guy go nuts.

In conclusion, Tokyo Ghoul is great for story and for anyone who plans to make a long lasting impression on many people but, sometimes it is too slow for anyone to want to watch it. Overall the anime is very good with action and its' story telling in general and despite some of the weirder characters in the anime you should like everyone to some extent.

Thanks for reading as always be sure to subscribe, share, comment , and eat some flesh!
