Amaana to Inuzuma
9/10
Now this is a lovable little anime is about a single father after losing his wife he makes a vow to make his daughter's life as enjoyable as possible. Now I honestly found this one on a whim but, I am glad I clicked on it and even more glad I watched the whole thing. Even with the consideration of the small target audience this one really shines as a jewel that makes it lovable even for people who would prefer other kinds of anime. Mainly because the relationship with Tsumugi(Daughter)and Kouhei(Father) is really well written and displayed.

This anime's strength is its' simplicity the plot goes around the Inuzuka family in their daily lives after the unfortunate death of the mother. Of course since the mother is now gone and Tsumugi is not old enough to perform chores it is up to Kouhei to perform the daily task only down side is he really sucks and them. Especially cooking but, despite that he does his best to keep his daughter's smile. Kouhei is a teacher at a nearby school and winds up in a out of school friendship with one of the students from his school Kotori. When the three of them are together they cook delicious food for the three of them to eat though, its' not a cooking show it does have some information in the anime if you would like to try the dishes yourself. Which is like an added bonus because some of it is actually really good. You can even follow the instructions provided by the anime for each individual recipe. Aside from that most of those scenes are very family oriented really giving off that warm fuzzy feeling when you see a happy family together. Kotori is a student from the school that Kouhei teaches at and is not a very social person however, her real problem comes from home where her family life is not so inclusive. Living alone with her mother they run a restaurant together which, sounds like they would be together a lot but, Kotori's mom is super famous in the cooking industry and that's how come they never spend time together. Kotori is the one who suggest that the trio should cook together and eat together showing that she really just longed for some kind of family life.
For the most part this anime has little conflict though, there is some between Tsumugi and her father due to her being a toddler. I was impressed with how well they did on these instances and how believable her little temper tantrums were mainly because the anime stuck to its' guns in the simple department. With all that combined the anime does really well but unfortunately, as of to date there has been no inclination of a second season so I think that we're only getting one dosage of Tsumugi and her father.
In conclusion, this anime is probably not a starter anime though it is good here is why, most people when trying to get into anime are going to want something excited one-hundred percent of the time. This anime does not accomplish excitement it is more calming than exciting for a vast majority of the anime. Also, it will not reflect how most anime is today and if they think this is the standard well, they might get a surprise later. However, if you know someone who has seen quite a bit or might be a little burnt out then, this is probably a good answer to give them. Even if you are into a seriously different kind of anime you should at least give this one a try in my opinion hell, even I favor more action/adventure types and I like this one more than a lot of them.
