Re:Life

9/10 Going to get another good one this week as we dive into Re:Life a story about shut-ins getting another chance at life instead of just falling off the map this particular case follows Arata Kaizaki. The general idea of this anime/webcomic is for a shut in to get a Relife to learn about who they once were to make them not a shut in anymore. With that we'll jump right into it. Now despite the incredible amount of age-play this thing does it is a good story over all as you can assume by the way the title looks this anime has to do with a special drug that reverses one's 'look' back to that of a teenager for the sake of them re-attending high-school in japan to try and rehabilitate them back into the world. Without any of the classmates or even the teachers knowing anything about it. Now, obviously there are a lot of problems with doing something like that and the fact that the writer decided to point those things out rather than ignore them really stood out to me as...

Magical Bastard Instructor

9/10  Now, it is rare I love something so much that I have to watch it twice this week it's Magical Bastard Instructor and I'll be giving you all of my thoughts on why this anime deserves a season two. The story in this anime is about a lazy magician known as Glenn Radars as he tries every way possible to get out of his new job to live a carefree life. For those of you who haven't looked into this anime at all I would completely recommend it for a lot of reasons but, I'll try to keep it somewhat manageable. First off, Glenn is a special character he reacts to many cliche happenings in anime completely different than pretty much ever other protagonist the only other character that I can even think of that acted this way is Kanata from  Sky Wizards  that the main character was practically failed by his writers. Glenn However, was not failed by his writers and is a really interesting character because, he does not react in a typical way and he kind of does his...

Fortune Arterial

8/10 Waltzing into a school full of vampires that act like your everyday human isn't something that happens often unless of course you are Hasekura Kohei. Not that this anime really goes into the whole vampire thing till pretty much the end of the show. Kohei is a different character in general when it comes to these romance animes normally. Most of the time you end up with a sniveling crybaby but Kohei he is kind of indifferent about it. Not to the point of questioning his sexuality but, he certainly is less idiotic about the whole situation. This anime is a lot of slice-of-life instead of having anything to really do with romance. The romance does come but, only towards the end of the show I would say it doesn't really start becoming part of it till about episode eight. I will say that their depiction of vampires is pretty interesting though it was before "Interviews with Monster Girls" it has the same idea that blood sucking is a lot more intimate than peo...

Gakusen Toshi Asterisk S1

Image
7.8/10 Asterisk follows Ayato as he tries to chase his long lost sister to find out what happened to her during the grand festa. Which is basically like the martial arts tournament except with no weaponry rules. This anime has a little bit of everything but,is generally a action heavy anime. If I had to compare it to an anime I would use  Gokukoku no Brynhildr  without all of the brutal deaths as this anime does have some fan-service in it but, it is mostly about the fights. With that being said I will say a good portion of the first season is a lot of world building and character placement that is later explained and shown in the second season. That being said Ayato is pretty much a badass throughout the whole thing. It's not like he can't be beat but, man I would hate to see what happens when this dude can go at one-hundred percent the whole time. Ayato has a curse placed on him that will not allow him to fight at full power for more than a very limited amount of time. ...

Beelzebub

Image
8/10 This anime is about a young man who ends up raising the demon king's son to take over the human world but, is not interested in the idea of being the very end of humanity. Beelzebub is an action heavy anime that follows Oga Tatsumi a first year delinquent that strikes fear into his fellow classmates. At first Oga appears crude and much like the synapses of the anime describes him but, after sixty episodes you start to think that Oga might not actually be a bad person after all he just goes about things the wrong way. Throughout Beelzebub he fights numerous enemies that are sometimes stronger than he is but, in the end he is supported by a demon baby that shoots lightning so it doesn't usually end well for anyone including himself for being involved. A big strength in this anime is their story writing about Oga in general. The comedy helps a lot too making this anime one of the better underrated action animes that you could end up watching. Oga's character is wri...
