Fortune Arterial

8/10
Waltzing into a school full of vampires that act like your everyday human isn't something that happens often unless of course you are Hasekura Kohei. Not that this anime really goes into the whole vampire thing till pretty much the end of the show. Kohei is a different character in general when it comes to these romance animes normally.

Most of the time you end up with a sniveling crybaby but Kohei he is kind of indifferent about it. Not to the point of questioning his sexuality but, he certainly is less idiotic about the whole situation. This anime is a lot of slice-of-life instead of having anything to really do with romance. The romance does come but, only towards the end of the show I would say it doesn't really start becoming part of it till about episode eight. I will say that their depiction of vampires is pretty interesting though it was before "Interviews with Monster Girls" it has the same idea that blood sucking is a lot more intimate than people think. With this it brings up a lot of good questions that unfortunately are never answered in the show.

That being said this anime's best part is probably the relaxation of it. Calming in a sense overall it is a good anime to watch when you want something more relaxing than eighty hours of screaming at each other about friendship to win a fight. Not that there is anything wrong with that but, seriously some people need to chill out every once in awhile. Can't cuddle your body pillow while you are cheering All Might, Saitama, or Goku on now can you?

The biggest problem in this anime is probably its' lack of explanation and the use of easy tickets to get out of explaining something. Not like it is incredibly uncommon in anime in general but, it is over used in this one. Now I get it they only had twelve episodes to smash everything together but, they could have used the vampire stuff a lot more instead of just slamming it into the back end like they ended up doing. It did knock it down a few notches for me. It was elevated with some of the realistic approaches to things though so that makes it better than your average seven after all I do love it when people give real thought to something like how we may have misinterpreted a myth.

In conclusion, Fortune Arterial is a good anime for beginners who are not really ready to delve into total weeb mode and is still pretty good for anyone lost to society. You could recommend this to a friend pretty easily so long as they care for a more easy going story rather than one full of action. If you haven't seen it I would watch this so long as my list of animes I am currently watching was pretty short or if I wasn't following a boatload at once.
