Isuca is an anime that is about fighting evil spirits with the power of exorcist via the Shimazu family. Apparently they have fought bad ghost for a really long time. Our main characters consist of Sakuya and Shinichirou.

Isuca is about is good as they come for a romance/action anime it has just about everything you need for a successful piece. Good characters that are memorable a pretty good story and some genuine comedy. Not that it doesn't have its' flaws but, it has far more good things about it than bad things. That being said I am surprised it did not receive a second season but, I am sure the time will come. Isuca takes place in a modern day world with a bit of magic and spells. All the fun stuff you need for demons and exorcist right?

The best part of this anime is probably surprisingly the story and actual romance of the whole thing granted Sakuya is the typical tsundere but, I think pretty much everyone likes those for some reason. Hell even I can't explain that part and I look at this stuff all the time so, if anyone has an explaination for it feel free to leave it in the comment section. Our main male lead is Shinichirou which apparently has the power to boost magic through kissing people though he is not super thrilled about it since pretty much everyone wants that power. Considering his circumstances and what kind of predicament he ends up in I actually don't blame him for no wanting too all the time because lets be real Sakuya treats him like shit for the most part. I'm not particularly fond of that part but, even with it there the comedy is enough to offset any negatives I had about it to make it poor. Given the amount of time that her attitude doesn't change at all I feel like that may have been poor character writing for trying to milk the tsundere thing a little much so that is why it doesn't get the ten out of ten.

Isuca actually has some pretty cool fights if you can look past some of the fan-service that occurs during most of them. It even has the male lead take a stand a few times to do some crazy shit to save the day showing that he isn't exactly a total bitch which I am cool with. Anytime that happens in an anime where there is romance I appreciate that and it gets bonus points from me. The only thing I really didn't like aside from Sakyua being bitchy too long was the harem starting to get started towards the end but, I guess there is marketing in that.

Overall, Isuca is a great anime to watch it has minor flaws but, considering most shows have horrible ones I would say these are acceptable. It should be a good show to watch inbetween seasons and it will most likely make you want another taste though, there has been no word of a second season I wouldn't give up hope yet as the popularity of it should propel us to another taste since it was one of the only good animes during its' season when it came out. That gave it a lot of momentum and made people appreciate it and remember it.
