Kaze No Stigma

8.5/10
Kaze No Stigma is about a young man who is expelled from his family for being unable to control the power of fire like the rest of his family. In this family they prefer fire over wind and those who are unable to master it in the main family are disowned.

This anime probably has one of the cooler main characters because lets face it the dude is just not a bitch like most of the main male leads. Granted he really likes to tease the people around him but, all in all he is a better character than most. Plus, the dude is a total bad ass in a fight I think he loses his cool in a few fights during the whole anime. Now he isn't completely infallible because that just wouldn't be any fun to watch with series like One Punch Man or  Overlord hanging around. Granted I will say that Kaze no Stigma is older than the both of them so I guess you could call this their grand daddy. Unfortunately not enough people liked Kaze No Stigma to keep it going as it only had one season with little hope for another one. Since it came out around the time that Harems were the big thing to mess with its' popularity suffered the damage and caused it to fail.

Without the Harems or, if people would have just had their minds out of the gutter(which not many people can help) Kaze No Stigma is a really good anime. I love the way they portrayed their story and made the young son seem like an outcast that was loved for some reason. It was explained why that was within the first episode he may not be a good fire user but, he is a hellified wind user. His affinity with wind magic makes him rival some of the very strongest fire users according to the head of the family so, Kazuma is really powerful. Part of why he ended up an outcast was because he wasn't nearly as powerful when he got kicked out then when he came back he had become the Kaze No Stigma giving him pretty much all wind powers.

The only real weakness to this anime that I really saw was probably the lack of characters in general. Normally less characters means they spent more time on each one but, in this anime there just aren't enough people in the 'world' to make it feel alive. It is like playing a video game or reading a book where the main character only ever converses with people in direct contact with him at all time is a pretty good idea of how this anime feels sometimes. That being said they did do a lot of work on Kazuma which is fairly obvious.

In conclusion, Kaze No Stigma is pretty fun to watch in general as it is the grandaddy of all the over powered characters anime. Unfortunately it just never caught on so, I would try to watch it if I hadn't already.
