The Devil is a Part Timer

10/10
This anime is about as ridiculous as its title would imply. The devil is a part timer is basically about Satan working at McDonalds. Honestly I can't tell if that's creative marketing or a jab towards McDonald's but, at the very least they made a very good anime in the process.

This show fools you in the beginning by showing you a completely different setting than you would think. Giving you the impression that this may be a gory action before having Satan (Maou) end up in our world. With this speaking a different language and with no idea where he is at he is forced to use what little magic that he had to get more information. When he discovers that there is little similarities between his world and ours he takes it upon himself to find a way to get magic back and get back home to rule the land. Maou ends up in our world because he is defeated by a hero and pushed to our world though, there is slight indication he may not have fought at his full power or at least it seemed that he was pretty easily defeated.

The devil is a part timer has its' core strength of comedy it is a hell of a laugh through and through. There are little animes that can compete with this one in laughs. Even without the laughs the story is compelling enough to keep your eyes on the screen. This anime is similar to Yusibu in the fact it has a seemingly common workplace with less than average workers. I would consider checking that out too if you like this one. The only thing I don't like about this show is that the second season is taking too long to come out. Yes, second season is one-hundred percent happening but, the release date is wishy washy I will try to keep an update on it for you.

All of that being said The Devil Is  A Part Timer actually has some pretty cool action in it and if you watch it all the way you will see why I say I don't think Emilia really had what it took to beat Maou. Considering the difference between them and how they view each other they are fun to watch interact with one another as Emilia is not necessarily sure how to handle Maou since he isn't anything like she thought. Our demon lord isn't really all that bad and takes everything really serious if anything he seems more like the good guy than she does which brings up an interesting question of what Maou;s true intentions really are. Unfortunately we will be waiting until the second season to find out those answers if any at all.

At the end of the day The Devil is A Part Timer is a great anime to watch and probably even better to start on. There is lots of good humor for just about anyone to enjoy as you don't have to know many references to get the jokes since they pertain to real world objects and stores. You can show this to your friends with out fear and even view it at work should your internet and boss allow that to happen.

Thanks for reading again! Remember to subscribe, share, or comment for the great Maou!
