Fairy Tail (Update)

A horribly sad piece of news is about to hit you like a ton of bricks...


Everyone is excited for the new FT movie unfortunately, this is also a signal of the end of FT. While browsing the internet I happened across a quote from Comicbook/anime.com straight out of Hiro Mashima's mouth. The quote basically states that the manga will be ending and those of you who don't know much about it manga is basically an anime's script. It is a comic book of sorts that they draw the inspiration and story line from. It is the framework and heart of any anime so if it is ending then the anime is soon to follow. Here is the quote...




“This project started as a fun thing to do while feeling a bit adventurous, trying to solve various obstacles in the journey. But if I continued doing just what for a long time, I would get tired, so I started including a variety of things.
Since my previous work was quite a heavy story, I remember thinking to myself that I wanted to go a bit light this time. But, even so, this story turned into something with a huge war. A big difference between the previous work and this one is that Natsu is not fighting for world peace, right? In the previous one, the characters were fighting to protect the world. This time, they just want to protect their guild. Natsu even said in the Edolas arc, “We joined the guild to live, that’s why I don’t care about the world.”
Although it is quite annoying that he cannot be thought of as a hero of this story thanks to that, both stories are still very similar to some extent. Fight to survive. Fight for your friends. It may not lead to world peace, but it is all justice for Natsu - and I love that about Natsu.
After this, I have the will to draw more as well - something to set in a new world. Yes, I want to write a new story! Fairy Tail will be completed in about 2 more volumes. After that, I will feel a bit empty. But it is exciting to think about all the new things that might start later. Thank you so much for the support! So, as you can see that is the definitive end of FT right there. In my opinion I appreciate this a lot more than something like what happened to Naruto where they attempted to push it farther than it should have been and even going as far as to make a anime about Naruto's son. I can only hope that FT will not follow suite with so many other grand animes and end up with an ending undeserving of the series because throughout all of the twist and turns Fairy Tail will always remain a good overall anime.


Though, considering its ending is near I am interested to see what show will take its place in the big three comment below and give me your idea of what might be the next big one!
