Sword Oratoria

6.5
Not every review can be a good one and unfortunately this is just gonna be one of the bad ones I'm back for this Friday's review so let's go ahead and jump right into this one.

Now I try to look at every anime with the same eye to make sure I grade them fairly on every aspect that I think about. Since this was a sort of spin off season of Dan Machi I was never really sure how to look at this show. The premise of it is that you're following the story from Aiz's point of view instead of Bell's. Which, is all fine and good but there was some serious lack of Bell in this show and unfortunately I don't think people got attached enough to Aiz for her to be on her own yet. Now, while I do think it was a good idea to maybe world build a tad on Aiz as to be honest she is a somewhat unlikable character based on the fact you as the viewer never really get to learn a lot about her. In this version of the parallel story you do learn much more about her but, I think that the time would have been much better spent in making an actual season two of Dan Machi and that all of this information could have been included there.

On another note this version of Dan Machi added a new 'Main Character' that was also generally unlikable. Her character serves little purpose in the overall story that I have seen so far now, I haven't read the manga on this one so I might be completely wrong on that however at the current time her only purpose seems to be to annoy the viewer and to be up Aiz's ass with a microscope blasting all the sunshine she can up there.

I do like getting a look into a larger familia and even having a look at some stronger characters in general that have ventured far into this world however, once again I believe that this could have been and probably should have been tackled in an actual second season of Dan Machi had they done that we would probably be getting ready for Season three rather than Season two. Though the show had many of the same styles and gags it somehow lacked the extra push without Bell and his gang and I also found that no moment in Sword Oratoria was quite like the Minotaur battle with Bell afterall that had so much feeling behind it that you felt as though you were really there with Bell and I get that it's hard to do that normally but, there has to be some good stuff in this one.

All in all, I think a lot of this information could have been included in a season two. Luckily we will be getting a season two of Bell and gang so this didn't completely tank it though, I will say I don't think they can afford to make another run around like this. If nothing more if you really like Dan Machi you should watch it as many important background events are revealed and a lot of lore is added to the overall story if you haven't seen Dan Machi and are interested in this you need to watch Dan Machi first to get the full appreciation.

That's all this week leave a comment or share to your buddies till next time!
