Trapped in another world with my smartphone
6/10
Trapped In Another World With My Smart Phone is about you guessed it a guy named Touya who is in a magic world with his smart phone. Going beyond how ridiculous the whole idea of this is we're going to dive into the depths of it in this review so grab your phones I guess?
Normally, I don't really watch poor anime to the end but, somehow I ended up watching this fairly average anime completely to the end. Now, I know a lot of people ripped on this anime really hard and for the most part I do agree with them however, every anime has something to learn from it including the bad ones.
First off, this anime has very little ambition though, I think you probably should have realized that when the character died and was super nonchalant about it. Ignoring that whole issue is the fact that they had no real goal for this anime I couldn't tell if it was for fan service or if they were trying to be serious. It lacked any kind of direction other than lets move on to the next episode. Though, most people rip on the raw over-powered character this was a rare instance of a good explanation as to why he was. Since god accidentally killed him he decided to give the poor dude another chance the problem with that is the very less than believable reaction Touya gives. Actually I think Touya is probably the main problem in this whole show the guy is a blank I feel more sorry for him than I do anything else I wondered if he had emotions the whole time I watched this anime. He has some of the most lack-luster reactions to everything from dying to becoming unbelievably powerful. This guy would probably have been better off dead in the first place hell he might have been happier. Even in the moment he basically realizes he could totally exploit his power which would have made this whole thing more interesting the writers chose to make him an even more boring character by making him a goodie-two-shoes. Remember that Flying Magical Academy anime I reviewed a long time ago with the main character that was hindered by his writers? This is pretty much the exact opposite though, I'm pretty sure this is entirely the writers' fault.
In the end this anime wasn't very good it was average at least so, if you need some time to kill and some small laughs go right ahead but, if you're looking for something far more serious than I wouldn't look at this anime at all.
See you next Friday!
